Our Volunteer Galapagos Islands program is situated in the peaceful San Cristobal Island with about 6,000 inhabitants. It is a charming Island with 558 km square, and altitude of 730 meters and has a port call Puerto Baquerizo Moreno which is the capital of the Galapagos Islands. While you are volunteering with Eco Volunteer UP in the volunteer Galapagos Islands program you can do different activities.
— Punta Pitt, a 30 minutes car ride from the Port on the northeastern of San Cristobal Island, there are trails where you will watch three species of foot boobies, frigate birds, and other birds, and the collapsed cone of an extinct volcano called Junco lagoon.
— Cerro Brujo, first site visited by Charles Darwin, this place has an ideal hike to one of the viewpoints of a statue of Charles Darwin and the Interpretation Center, you will be able to read and watch pictures of the history and geology of the Islands, here you can find white sand beach, sea lions, marine iguanas and blue footed boobies.
— Playa Mann, a few meters from the port, it is a short beach ideal to snorkel and beach camp.
— Carola Point, another spot to snorkel, it is a rocky formation with yellow sand beach with a half moon shape, you can climb and from the beach admire the rock formation of Leon Dormido.
— Puerto Grande, great place to watch blue footed boobies.
— Colorado Hill, a viewpoint of the tortoises and a pacific bay with a small lake.
— Puerto Chino, small beach surrounded by mangroves and dry lava rocks.
— Loberia, a great beach spot, white sand and black lava rocks.
There are other attractions to enjoy your staying in San Cristobal: , Ochoa Beach,San Joaquin Hill, Carola Point, Manglarcito, the canon, five finger rocks, whale rock and tigeretas. Come and be Volunteer Galapagos Islands.
